Take 10 young people who start smoking in their teens and carry on throughout their lives. Statistically, what are they likely to die of?

• Almost certainly none will be MURDERED
• And none will die in a RADIATION LEAK from a nuclear power station
• None will be killed by a TERRORIST BOMB
• And none will die in a WAR
• It is very unlikely indeed that any of them will die in a CAR CRASH or from AIDS
• But 5 of the 10 will die before their time from SMOKING-RELATED DISEASES.
