Every
year about 1500 children in Britain are found to have cancer.
About 150 of these cancers may not have happened if their
fathers hadn’t smoked.
Men who smoke produce fewer sperm and more are likely to be damaged. About
1 in 10 of childhood cancers (including leukaemia) could be due to the
cigarettes smoked by fathers-to-be.
The more the dads smoke, the bigger the risk to their children.
